About me..

I’m a 40 something year old single mom from NE Ohio.  I have a WONDERFUL 18 year old daughter that is the light in my life.  I have a Master’s degree from John Carroll University in counseling, however, I’m not a counselor anymore.  I think I’ll write a “Career or lack thereof” post sometime soon.  I’ve done ‘this’ and ‘that’ throughout my life and found ‘something’ was missing, there was this serious lack of a sense of pleasure and fulfillment…. and then I started running.  I discovered that I could actually do it.

I’ve raised my daughter pretty much all alone.  It was tough and at times I’ve questioned how ‘good’ I really am at being a mom.  Seeing what a fantastic young woman she has become has reassured me that I did a lot better than I thought I did!  I’m amazed how smart, caring, and full of life this kid is.  She takes life as it comes and doesn’t let typical ‘life crap’ to get in the way of her dreams.  This girl is gonna fly!

I started running in August 2011 with the Couch to 5k program.  Whoever came up with this is a GENIUS!  This simple app on my phone got me moving and in 2 years I’ve accomplished more than I ever dreamed I could !  I’ve rediscovered pride through this great sport and I’ve only just begun!   (My friends are currently cringing at that last sentence!)  I’ll be adding a “Who drank the Kool-Aid” post soon too!

Fun (or not) Facts about me:

I was born and raised in Indiana…somewhere close to Cornfield county!  We moved a lot, I left for good in 1987.  Haven’t been back since.

I love to read.  it started in early childhood and I’m still reading.  It’s my escape and I’ve learned so much through books.

I have OCD.  I’m okay with it.  It’s a kinda funny, weird thing about me.  It can serve a purpose on occasion but can also make me nutso (in a good way of course)!

I love tattoos..I have quite a few, five to be exact.  I have plans for more, deciding on what and where is the challenge.

More about me to come….
